As a Case Manager in the Brandon Regional Office, you will help guide injured workers on their journey toward recovery and successful reintegration into the workforce. In this role you will be directly contributing to the wellbeing of injured workers and their families by supporting them through the recovery process. By collaborating closely with employers, healthcare providers, and other WCB stakeholders you will plan meaningful solutions for safe timely return to work outcomes. Job Duties:
Manage workplace injury and illness claims, making entitlement decisions based on thorough assessments.
Provide personalized support to injured workers and employers, guiding them through the recovery and return-to-work process.
Identify and implement safe, modified, or alternate return-to-work opportunities.
Coordinate services with medical professionals, rehabilitation specialists, and other team members.
Facilitate multi-disciplinary meetings to develop and implement case plans for complex cases.
Promote and support workplace disability management and return-to-work programs.
Ensure compliance with The Workers Compensation Act and other relevant legislation.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience - A university degree in a related field (Commerce, Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, etc.) and at least five years of experience making entitlement decisions while providing client services or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Knowledge - Familiarity with case management, disability management, and medical terminology.
Problem-Solving - The ability to analyze information, assess claims, and make informed decisions.
Communication Skills - Strong verbal and written communication to interact with diverse stakeholders.
Team Player - Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Adaptability - Comfortable working under pressure with tight deadlines.
Technical Proficiency - Experience using Windows-based software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
Travel Ability - Willingness to travel within Manitoba as required.
Bilingualism (English & French) is an asset but not required.

Please note that this position is tentatively set to begin in April 2026 with a 12 week hybrid training class in Brandon and Winnipeg. Hours of work during the training period are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Participation in Compressed Work Week, or a Flexible Work Hours schedule will be suspended during a training class and no extended vacation time will be permitted.
You may be asked to demonstrate your ability through competency based interviewing and/or testing.

During the training period, candidates will not be eligible to take vacation. Hours of work during the training period will be Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

The Case Manager is the primary contact responsible for the provision of case management services to an assigned region, industry and/or group of employers, and their injured workers. The incumbent is responsible for entitlement decisions and ongoing management of claim files originating from the assigned region, industry and/or group of employers, including the provision of primary rehabilitation and return to work services, the promotion of disability management concepts to stakeholders and the coordination and monitoring of vocational rehabilitation and other professional services.
