The Case Manager will oversee a case load consisting of up to one hundred (100) clients. The incumbent will attend local probation offices to interview clients who have community service hours as a condition of their probation. The Case Manager will set the clients up for success by providing community placements and monitoring their hours in accordance with the probation requirements.
### KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide intensive case management for clients by maintaining caseload, keeping appropriate and complete records on all contacts and sessions as required by policies and procedures.
• Provide individual counselling sessions, and interventions to reduce the risk of recidivism, including but not limited to short -term crisis intervention, ongoing case management, training and education, and community development and networking.
• Conduct intake and risk assessments in the probation offices and the Correctional Justice Services office.
• Maintain client confidentiality. Develop rapport with the clients. Provide individual counselling to clients re: any issue that may interfere with the reintegration process.
• Develop and maintain networks and positive relationships with community agencies and programs to stay current on available resources.
• Identify service issues/gaps/needs and bring to the attention of the Executive Director in a timely manner and participate in the development and implementation of appropriate processes for effective and efficient program delivery.
• Conduct assessments of Community Justice clients.
• Report violations of parole conditions in accordance with policies.
• Log pertinent information in the official registers and the Offender Management System (OMS).
• Secure and maintain community placements for clients.
• Develop and implement case management of assigned clients; assist clients in establishing goals, monitor progress, and prepare discharge plan.
• Monitor appropriate behavior; intervene in crisis situations, provide emotional support and advocacy as required.
• Contact other agencies whenever necessary to provide client Supervise residents regarding their adherence to parole conditions.
• Engage in the development of inter-personal relationships that promote dignity and respect.
• Provides training and coaching to other case workers to promote effective case management.
• Assigns and distributes case load to individual case workers.
• Acts as Team Lead/Supervisor of case worker staff.
• Serves as a member of Greenfield House Leadership Team and maintains strong communications with senior management.
• Chairs weekly case conferences attended by the rest of case the management team, chaplain, Executive Director and House Parole Officer .
• Coordinates case management response to crisis and challenging case management situations.
Communication and Reporting:
• Perform administrative duties, such as compiling and maintaining accurate case files and appropriate documentation related to clients and initiatives and any new documentation; complete all reports required by the funder and The Salvation Army.
• Prepare and/or input appropriate forms, monthly statistical recording, and reporting; Communicate continually and effectively with team members and is an active and cooperative team member; Participate at case management meetings, in-house training and in ongoing development of relevant skills/knowledge.
• Enter client data in the Corrections & Justice Services (CJS) database and provide monthly data entry reports for each client.
• Complete monthly statistical reports for The Salvation Army Management Information System {SAMIS).
• Complete termination reports and provide breach summaries to PPO, as requested.
Community Networking and Partnerships:
• Liaise with Probation and Parole Officers to exchange information about clients as necessary.
• Work cooperatively with the community partners and complete necessary documentation as required.
• Network with The Salvation Army, government, and community social service providers to coordinate resources for the benefit of clients and programs.
• Coordinate care services to help clients identify and obtain resources.
• Perform other position related duties.

MANAGERIAL/TECHNICAL LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITY
• Reports directly to: Executive Director of Moncton Greenfield House (CJS).
• Direct reports for this position: Case Workers and Case Work Student interns.
FINANCIAL AND MATERIALS MANAGEMENT:
• Does not process any financial transactions and has no budget responsibilities.
• Responsible for the safekeeping of materials and equipment for own use.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
• Schedule may vary according to requirements of responsibilities- some weekend and evening work may be required.
• Work is generally performed in a standard office setting. However, the incumbent will meet with clients at the probation offices and courts as required.
• Some travel to the probation offices and courts is required (15%).

### QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education, Qualifications and Certifications:
• A post-secondary degree in Correctional/Social Work/Criminology, or equivalent.
• Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification and CPR/First Aid Certification would be an asset or willing to obtain.
• Valid New Brunswick Class "G" Driver's
• Must provide an original copy of current driver's abstract that it satisfactory to The Salvation Army in its sole discretion.
• Required to provide an original copy of a Background Check with vulnerable sector screening that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion through a local police detachment. Screening is secured through the national Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) or through a local police detachment.
• Approved Institutional Access by Correctional Services Canada
• Reliability Clearance
• Alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Experience and Skilled Knowledge Requirements:
• Minimum of two (2) years of prior related experience as a Case Manager working with marginalized clientele in a correctional/social service setting.
• Demonstrates skilled knowledge in conflict resolution/mediation, non-violent crisis intervention, and strengths-based interventions with diverse populations and stakeholders, including vulnerable and marginalized populations.
• Develop an understanding and support for the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada and its implications as related to position responsibilities.

• Working knowledge of pertinent government legislation and guidelines related to correctional programs, concurrent disorders, housing, social assistance, employment, and housing.
