Responsibilities: Reporting to the site superintendent, this role will execute all aspects of constructing residential, commercial, and institutional structures. As a Carpenter at NIC, your responsibilities will include: \xc2\xb7 Interpret architectural drawings and specifications with precision. \xc2\xb7 Create layouts and construct sturdy foundations. \xc2\xb7 Assemble triodetic multipoint foundations and bearing pads. \xc2\xb7 Fabricate floor beams, subflooring, and assemble wall and roof systems. \xc2\xb7 Install drywall, insulation, partitions, ceilings, and exterior cladding. \xc2\xb7 Fit windows, doors, stairs, and associated hardware. \xc2\xb7 Execute flooring installation, moldings, and other finishing touches. \xc2\xb7 Contribute to the assembly and finishing of permanent modular structures. \xc2\xb7 Participate in retrofit and remediation projects. \xc2\xb7 Maintain a clean and well-organized construction site. \xc2\xb7 Provide guidance and training to fellow workers and apprentices. \xc2\xb7 Demonstrate a commitment to professionalism and a strong work ethic. Requirements: \xc2\xb7 Minimum of 2 years of rough and finish carpentry experience. \xc2\xb7 Journeyman Carpenter certification. Schedule: \xc2\xb7 4 weeks on and 2 weeks off for employees traveling from western or northern Canada (BC, AB, SK, MB, Yukon, NT, NU) \xc2\xb7 6 weeks on and 2 weeks off rotations for employees traveling from eastern Canada (NL, NS, PEI, NB, QC, ON) \xc2\xb7 Employees can volunteer to work longer rotations; the site supervisor and management must approve this.
