Job Description

An 80 year old woman with ME/CFS and MCS needs an experienced practical assistant worker with vehicle 2-3 times a week for a total of about 36-40 hours a month.

The employer is partially deaf and also becomes over-fatigued with much verbal interaction. She communicates some of the time through writing.

She has food sensitivities and challenges with gallbladder and ulcer.

She is a writer and a poet. Her poetry Chapbooks are on Amazon. She also hosts Facebook groups and she would like to return to email coaching.

Location:

Sidney (Near Lochside Waterfront Park)

Shifts:

2 shifts a week between 12:30 and 2:30 (10 hours per month) Tasks from your home, (20 hours per month) 2 shifts a month for lab or health appt. (10 hours a month)

Responsibilities:

Tasks from your home:

Emails, scheduling, health care phone calls Help with decision-making via email or text Meal prep once or twice a week

Possible tasks from the women's home:

Clean one air purifier outside (there are 3 air purifiers) Wash dishes. Food prep might include: Cut veggies and put them in a pan. Prepare two mugs of hot water (for beet chicken bone broth and peppermint tea. Make a smoothie (Hemp yogurt, Avocado, and frozen fruit) Provide back massage for two or three minutes Change bed sheets Help the woman move from bed to outside deck lounge Or to go for short walk

NOTE

: She pushes a metal cart inside. It has three bucket levels for food and clothes. She uses a cane to get to her walker outside and The walker with seat to walk down her driveway.

Wages:

$28.00 per hour. (negotiable, based on knowledge, experience, training, and number of weeks/months/years working with the woman employer)

Required Qualifications:

Driver's license and a scent-free vehicle is required Candidate must be scent-free (uses natural scent-free laundry products) Someone who understands interaction challenges Able to read and follow written notes, lists. Be able to communicate through email

Asset:

Knowledgeable about ME/CFS and MCS Familiar with clients who have Brain challenges, Chemical Sensitivity, and Extreme Fatigue Caregiving experience.
