Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Personal Support Worker to assist a male employer with ALS with all activities of daily living.

Location:

Surrey (near Fleetwood Community Centre)

Available Shifts:

Monday to Friday: 8/9 AM to 11 AM Monday to Friday: 12 PM to 8 PM

or

2 PM to 10 PM Monday to Friday: 4 PM to 10 PM

Compensation:

$25 per hour

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to:

Assistance with daily activities like grooming, oral hygiene and eating; Toileting and tube feeding Administer meals, supplements, and medications through peg feeding tube Daily tracheostomy care including cleaning the stoma, changing dressings and changing the inner cannula Troubleshoot ventilator settings and alarms Use Cough Assist machine and suction to clear secretions. Help with repositioning, stretching, and light exercises. Transfers using sling and manual lift Assist with turning on his electronics; he uses eye gaze For the 9-11 AM shifts the caregiver would help other caregivers with: cleaning, bathing, peri-care, bowel movements, peeing, suctioning, repositioning, syringe feeding, and transfers

Requirements:

Caregiving experience required Must have prior hands on work experience with Ventilator and Cough Assist Fully vaccinated against Covid-19 Experience communicating with individuals who are non-verbal Must be able to lift 50lbs and comfortable to lift a 6 foot person Be professional, punctual, and able to stay calm in emergencies Bring positivity, kindness and light-heartedness Valid First Aid (preferred) PROP Training (preferred) Ability to speak Punjabi (preferred)
