the provision of settlement and integration services for immigrants and refugees.



Job Title: Career Practitioner



Location: St. John's, NL



Position Type: 1 full-time position

The

Career Practitioner

supports newcomers in Newfoundland and Labrador with career planning, job readiness, and employment connections.




Roles and Responsibilities:





Client Assessment & Planning:


Assess employment history, career goals, and barriers Create individualized career plans

Job Search & Readiness:


Provide resume, interview, and job search guidance Refer clients to group workshops on job readiness

Employment Coaching:


Offer one-on-one support on workplace integration, retention, and career advancement

Employer Engagement:


Build relationships with employers to connect clients with job opportunities and support subsidized placements

Tracking & Follow-up:


Maintain client records, monitor progress, and follow up to assist with job maintenance

Qualifications and Experience:




Bachelor's in relevant field 2-4 years in delivering career development services or employment programs Strong organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills

Conditions of Employment:




Legal authorization to work in Canada Flexible to work outside of core hours (Monday-Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm) Position is subject to a satisfactory Criminal Record Screening and Vulnerable Sector Check from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary
