WJ Mouat Secondary has a diverse student population of 1500 with a rich multi-cultural student demographic. The success candidate for this position will have a background in Math and/ or Science and a willingness to engage with the Careers team to delivery CLE 10. Leaning into personalized, inquiry-based instruction, the successful individual will be able to unpack and assess students based on the curricular competencies using the provincial performance standard. The teacher will be responsible for teaching in an inquiry-based model and provide support to a diverse and complex student community. The teacher must be able to create inquiry/project-based learning experiences that explore big ideas and concepts allowing students to thrive within an environment of complex knowledge construction as opposed to simple recall or retell of information. WJ Mouat is looking for a forward thinking, collaborative educator who thrives in a team environment and is willing to continue to operate on the leading edge of education and adjust practice accordingly. The successful applicant will teach Career Life Education 10, Math 10, Science 9.

Education & Experience:




  • Major/Minor in Mathematics and Science
  • Secondary teacher training with experience in Career Education
  • Experience teaching Mathematics and Science at the Secondary Level.
  • Experience teaching Career Life Education 10 and Career Life Connections 12
  • Eligible for B.C. Certification
  • Satisfactory teacher evaluation and/or final practicum report
