Position Summary:
The successful candidates will work with a team of professionals in screening referrals, writing exercise prescriptions, leading exercise classes, performing risk-factor counseling and establishing appropriate treatment plans based on the patient's assessment and medical history.
Qualifications:
THP is committed to internal talent, and therefore priority will be given to internal applicants.
Candidates must possess an Honours Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology, or equivalent.
Preference will be given to applicants who have a ACSM Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) Certification.
Previous experience in cardiovascular rehabilitation, including experience with a track-based program.
Excellent motivational, organizational, educational, leadership, problem solving, and interpersonal skills are required in order to respond to the program needs.
Knowledge of the fundamentals of exercise physiology, correct exercise technique and the ability to read electrocardiograms.
Knowledge of cardiac medications, physiology and coronary risk factors is also essential.
Exemplary attendance and performance record required.
