This grower role is called Production Supervisor and is to lead and help to develop the Production team so that we continue to be known for providing the best cutting and sticking plants in the industry with a special focus on quality, people & technological development and reaching goals Van Belle Nursery Youngplants is located in Old Clayburn Village where the scenery is beyond beautiful. At this location we propagate 400+ varieties of plants, many of which are highlighted in our show garden. Every employee is responsible for protecting and contributing to our culture by living these Values. *Goals for this role:** Support Production Manager in the implementation of a successful production plan. * Responsibilities for this role:**Plants** Ensure that SOP are are up to date for production techniques; * Reviewing and following under the guidance of the Production Manager cutting availability and quality (cutting/sticking) requirements based on production planning. * Oversee accuracy of inventory of plants and production supplies. Training FT and PT workers in all Production tasks & keeping the records. * Ensure team members receive complete training to operate machinery such as forklift, bobcat & ellepot machine etc. * Ensure equipment, machinery and facilities are operated in good and safe condition and report equipment failures to the proper channel of communication. * Maintain an accurate inventory of daily production numbers and supplies, materials and assist in purchase decisions. * especially during seasonal demands from March through July, spraying duties may need to take place in evenings and weekends * Van Belle Nursery is a smoke free workplace. *1-2 year of growing experience with ornamental nurseries, arboriculture, landscaping or 1-2 years experience in production leadership roles in a high-speed manufacturing environment. * Ability to learn, adapt & contribute in constant quality improvements for the plant production * Preferable certificate, diploma, degree in any field of Agriculture / Horticulture or advanced technical background to operate the robots. * Ability to work well with the technological system integration with plant knowledge & lean flow management * Maintain VB Nursery standards of work like speed, quality and collaborative team work *A company benefit package including extended health, dental and vision coverage * Job Type: Full-time 00 per hour Casual dress * Disability insurance * On-site parking * Monday to Friday * Ability to commute/relocate: * Abbotsford, BC V2S 7Y8: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required) Horticulture: 3 years (required)* Pesticide Applicator License (preferred) Work Location: In person %6212350% %%agriculture%%
