Yukon Universities Centre for Northern Innovation in Mining is an industry-driven organization working with mineral resource companies to improve and enhance the industry, help address its needs for training and education, and conduct applied research to provide solutions to industry issues.

This position is responsible for providing support to CNIM students to increase the participation and completion of programs. This position will assist individuals through the non-academic barriers to success by navigating through issues such as housing, childcare, counselling, nutrition, transportation, and other life challenges. This position will assist CNIM\'s instructors and coordinators to provide supportive learning environments in the field, classroom, and/or workshop. The student coach will help guide students through self-assessments, interest inventories, and identification of personal goals for career development. The candidate will support CNIM in building positive relationships with internal and external partners to aid in the effective operation of CNIM programming.

The ideal candidate will have an undergraduate degree in Education, Sociology, Psychology or a related field along with a Valid class 4 driver\'s license, class 3 preferred. Air brakes endorsement is required.

Candidates without the formal education but with considerable experience as noted above may also be considered.
