Job Details

Position Title: Liaison Events Coordinator
Status: Appendix D (Full-Time Contract until April 2025)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Program/Department: University of Guelph-Humber, Marketing and Student Recruitment
Campus/Location: 207 Humber College Blvd. (North Campus); hybrid work environment combining in office collaboration and remote working.
Salary: Payband H; $33.38 - $38.75 per hour

What you will do:

Under the general direction of the Manager, Marketing and Student Recruitment, the Liaison Events Coordinator contributes to the University\xe2\x80\x99s overall enrollment strategy in seeking qualified applicants to the University. This position works alongside a team to enhance the public image and reputation of the University in a competitive post-secondary environment.

The incumbent develops, implements and coordinates on-campus and off-campus in-person and virtual recruitment events designed to inform and engage prospective students in their postsecondary search process and to convert prospective students into confirmed applicants. The Liaison Events Coordinator is responsible for all facets of planning through to the execution of large-scale events such as the Ontario Universities\xe2\x80\x99 Fair, Fall Information Day and Program Preview Days and will oversee all details including, scheduling, programming, registration, sourcing supplies and technology needs, staffing, training resources, critical paths, catering, d\xc3\xa9cor, managing vendor relationships and more. The incumbent is also responsible for producing a variety of virtual and/or hybrid experiences, including but not limited to supporting videography, web design and live-streaming projects. The Liaison Events Coordinator supports colleagues with the coordination of programming for the Specialist High Skills Majors Reach Ahead Experiences, as well as campus tour experiences. The incumbent is also responsible for sourcing, ordering and maintaining inventory of promotional materials for giveaways and contests, as well as the supplies and equipment necessary for recruitment events and liaison travel, and will liaise with vendors for such requirements. The incumbent also represents the University of Guelph-Humber by participating in recruitment outreach efforts by conducting liaison presentations (in-person and virtually) to various target markets and in various recruitment activities across the province. The incumbent works with colleagues to train student leaders and contract liaison staff for their recruitment duties, ensuring they are well equipped to represent the university in various forums. This position supports and participates in all recruitment events which take place throughout the year, often requiring evening and weekend hours of work. In addition, this role may require overnight travel throughout Ontario, and occasionally out of province travel. This position requires a valid \xe2\x80\x98G\xe2\x80\x99 class driver\xe2\x80\x99s license.

The incumbent understands and incorporates marketing philosophy values into event production. This role is a strategic component of the University of Guelph-Humber\xe2\x80\x99s overall enrolment strategy, as the incumbent has a significant impact in shaping the public image of the University and on the prospective student\xe2\x80\x99s post-secondary decision-making process.

Qualifications

What you bring to the role:

Education:

The successful candidate will have a minimum of a 4-year degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Event Planning, Communications, or Business.

Experience:

A minimum of 2-years working in admissions and/or student recruitment. This time must include direct experience working with students. Experience planning in-person and virtual events is required. An understanding of admission entrance requirements and/or career opportunities is a significant asset.
