Shubie Park Campground is a vibrant, 100-site campground located in the heart of Shubie Park on the shores of Lake Charles--just minutes from downtown Halifax. With full-service and powered sites, tenting, a yurt, a luxury glamping experience (Vintage Vacations) and an on-site office and retail store, we offer guests a welcoming, well-run outdoor experience in one of HRM's most beautiful settings.

We are seeking an

experienced, hands-on Campground Manager

to

live on site

and oversee the day-to-day operations of the campground for the 2026 season. This is an ideal opportunity for a hospitality or property management professional who enjoys leadership, autonomy and a lifestyle-driven role in a dynamic outdoor environment.

On-site RV accommodation and a competitive compensation package are provided.



About the Role



As Campground Manager, you will have overall responsibility for campground operations, guest experience, staff leadership and financial oversight. You will lead by example--setting high service standards, building a positive team culture and ensuring guests feel welcomed, safe and well cared for throughout their stay.

This role requires a balance of

people leadership, operational oversight, financial accountability and problem-solving

, with the authority to make decisions that keep the campground running smoothly.

Key ResponsibilitiesGuest Experience & Customer Service



Lead and train a great team of staff to deliver consistently exceptional guest service Build a strong, positive reputation for Shubie Park Campground and Vintage Vacations through service excellence Resolve guest concerns professionally and proactively Ensure a safe, enjoyable environment for guests and employees

Team Leadership & Staffing



Recruit, train, schedule and supervise guest services, grounds, Vintage Vacations and security staff Set clear expectations, coach performance and hold staff accountable to standards Foster a positive, respectful and motivated team culture Ensure compliance with provincial labour standards and workplace policies

Operations & Property Management



Oversee daily campground and retail store operations Ensure buildings, grounds and equipment are well maintained and safe Make health and safety a daily operational priority Coordinate and oversee external service providers (e.g., waste removal, contractors)

Financial & Administrative Oversight



Implement and manage the seasonal business and financial plan Oversee cash handling, cashier reports, payroll and financial reporting Ensure accurate collection, security and reporting of registration fees and sales Track budget performance and report variances Maintain accurate computerized guest registration and reservation records

What We're Looking For:



Required Experience & Skills



Minimum

2 years' experience managing a campground

(preferred)

5+ years of supervisory or management experience

in hospitality, property management or a related field At least

2 years of cash control and cash audit experience

Strong computer skills, including MS Office and property management or reservation systems Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop teams Exceptional guest service mindset with strong problem-solving skills Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities

Additional Requirements



Willingness to become knowledgeable about the Halifax/Dartmouth area and local attractions Ability to successfully complete a

criminal record check and credit history check
