Camp Manager
Job Description
Active Scholars is a not-for-profit summer camp that focuses on Science Technology Engineering Art and Math (S.T.E.A.M.) education while developing physical literacy as well. Our lead classroom instructors are certified teachers, through Ontario College of Teachers, who facilitate an engaging learning experience throughout the school year. Our Scholars (campers between the ages of 7-13) will gain new knowledge and skill sets through our S.T.E.A.M. curriculum and through equal time participation in sports. Active Scholars is hiring a Camp Manager for the Summer of 2025. One week of prep is provided and the camp runs for 6 weeks.
Roles and Responsibilities
Supervision of campers during camp Provide a healthy and safe environment for campers Keep records of incidents and keep track of dietary and health requirements Attend training sessions and meetings with the Camp Director Supervise staff, volunteers, and camp counsellors Communicate with parents Manage behaviour and discipline issues Organize and manage registration Facilitate and organize lunch orders Purchase extra supplies for camp
Qualifications
Experience working with children aged 7-13 preferred OCT Certified or other equivalent preferred Must attend training and virtual meetings Must Vulnerable Sector Check. Asset: Teaching and/or camp experience and First Aid Certificate
Job Types: Full-time, Seasonal
Contract length: 8 weeks
Pay: $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 per week

Monday to Friday
