Designated with the B.C. government since 2005 and accredited by the B.C. Care Aide and Community Health Registry, Cambria College offers a 29 week, student-focused program, with small class sizes in a supportive and welcoming environment. Our Downtown Victoria campus is looking for a dynamic and caring LPN / RN who currently holds a practicing licence to join our team as a Practicum Instructor. The Instructor\xe2\x80\x99s key role is to lead, support, and oversee the practical and hands on training in a complex care facility. Under direction of the Program Coordinator, the Practicum Instructor will ensure students are able to progress through their clinical placements safely and successfully while maintaining full compliance with all Registry and regulatory requirements. The Instructor is also responsible for providing quality instruction and facilitating student learning according to the prescribed curriculum. * Locations are flexible and can be accommodated at a particular workplace Qualifications: 1) Full registration with the BCCNM 2) Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills 3) Good time management and organizational skills 4) Two or more years of full-time nursing experience, including work with older adults with complex health needs, home support and complex care 5) Patience and the ability to manage stressful situations 6) Demonstrated ability to teach adult learners Duties and Responsibilities: *including but not limited to* 1) Orientation of new students at practicum facilities 2) Provide all instruction and supervision required in practicum 3) Administer and grade written assignments, exams, skills checks, professional rubrics and mark learning outcomes carefully and diligently 4) Hold consultations with weaker students to enhance learning 5) Address attendance issues or other problems as they arise 6) Accompany and oversee students at practicum sites 7) Stay informed about changes and innovations in their field 8) Support and guide students through the COVID-19 policies and procedures 9) Implement and adhere to all college policies and procedures. 10) Implement and adhere to any changes by the BC Care Aide Registry Expected Start Date: 2023-04-24 Job Types: Full-time, Contract 6 weeks Salary: $30.00 per hour Experience:
