Job Description

UCN acknowledges that we are on the traditional

DUTIES

Reporting to the Vice President IIR, the CALC Programming Coordinator will support culturally informed research, programs and initiatives


for the Center for Aboriginal Languages and Culture (CALC) aligned with Indigenous Initiatives and Reconciliation (IIR)'s priorities. This


includes program development, data collection, analysis and interpretation, knowledge dissemination, proposal development and funding


identification, The work will emphasize multiple knowledge systems and related topics, ensuring that program and practices are rooted in


respect, reciprocity, and relevance to Indigenous communities.




REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

o Masters degree in Indigenous Studies or Education, an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered


Experience working with Indigenous Communities and building partnerships Experience in research and program development Experience with grant writing with an emphasis on tri-council funding Experience in project management/coordination Critical thinking and problem solving skills Ability to work effectively within a complex and fast-paced environment with staff and faculty Excellent computer skills with Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 Effective and culturally relevant communication and interpersonal skills Effective time management and organizational skills Commitment to life-long learning

ASSETS

o Ability to speak an Indigenous language


Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous cultures


CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

o Candidates must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada
