JOB OVERVIEW

We're hiring a Prep Cook to join our small but tight knit team. We are looking for someone with previous experience working in a kitchen, who wants to further develop their cooking skills. As the successful candidate, you will be trained to run the daily breakfast and lunch service with assistance from our team. This role is hands-on, task-driven, and important to our daily flow. We operate as a small team and all staff are trained to assist with back of house and front of house duties, including customer serice, preparing hot and cold drinks and running food orders. This role will assist with both front of house and back of house duties.

JOB DUTIES

Lead daily prep for lunch service and grab-and-go items Track low stock and ensure it is prepped ahead of need Cooking breakfast along side prep duties from 8:30-11:00 Assisting with lunch service from 11:00-2:00 Assist with customer service, preparing specialty drinks and taking orders Monitor low stock or out-of-stock items for ordering Help receive and put away inventory efficiently Maintain clear communication with the supervisor on BOH needs Keep the prep area clean, organized, and moving fast Support newer team members or junior staff with guidance

REQUIREMENTS

Strong prep/kitchen experience required Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment Able to take initiative and make decisions Strong attention to detail Confident leading and supporting others in the back-of-house Food Safe Level 1 preferred (or willing to obtain) Must be reliable A positive attitude and willingness to assist with front of house duties as required.

HOURS OF WORK

Convair Cafe is open Monday to Friday 8:30AM - 3:30 PM.


Shifts for this role are 7:00AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
