Job Description

SoLIT Cafe is a small coffee shop in downtown montreal with fresh slice and serve style food menu. We are seeking an experienced and motivated Kitchen Supervisor to oversee daily kitchen operations and ensure food quality, cleanliness, and team efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for food safety and quality, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Supervise kitchen staff and coordinate food preparation activities Ensure food is prepared and presented according to company standards and health regulations Train and support kitchen staff in cooking techniques, safety procedures, and kitchen protocols Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen equipment, storage areas, and workstations Enforce compliance with sanitation, safety, and hygiene standards (e.g., HACCP, local health codes) Assist with menu planning, portion control, and cost management Conduct regular inspections and quality checks on food preparation and presentation Report maintenance issues and ensure equipment is functioning properly Handle staff scheduling and support time management to meet service demands Assist coffee bar on as needed basis

Qualifications

:

Proven experience in a supervisory role in a commercial kitchen Culinary degree or relevant certification (preferred but not required) In-depth knowledge of kitchen safety and sanitation standards Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle busy periods effectively Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Superviseur de cuisine

experimente et motive pour superviser les operations quotidiennes de la cuisine et veiller a la qualite des aliments, a la proprete et a l'efficacite de l'equipe.
Le candidat ideal possedera de solides competences en leadership, une passion pour la securite et la qualite alimentaire, ainsi que la capacite de travailler dans un environnement dynamique et rapide.

Responsabilites principales :

Superviser le personnel de cuisine et coordonner les activites de preparation des aliments S'assurer que les plats sont prepares et presentes selon les normes de l'entreprise et les reglements sanitaires Former et accompagner le personnel de cuisine sur les techniques culinaires, les procedures de securite et les protocoles de cuisine Surveiller les niveaux d'inventaire et participer aux commandes de fournitures au besoin Maintenir la proprete et l'organisation de l'equipement de cuisine, des aires de stockage et des postes de travail Faire respecter les normes de salubrite, de securite et d'hygiene (ex. : HACCP, reglements de sante locaux) Contribuer a la planification du menu, au controle des portions et a la gestion des couts Effectuer regulierement des inspections et controles de qualite sur la preparation et la presentation des plats Signaler les problemes d'entretien et s'assurer du bon fonctionnement de l'equipement Gerer les horaires du personnel et soutenir la gestion du temps pour repondre aux demandes du service Apporter un soutien ponctuel au comptoir cafe au besoin
Qualifications :

Experience averee dans un poste de supervision en cuisine commerciale Diplome en arts culinaires ou certification pertinente (un atout, mais non obligatoire) Connaissance approfondie des normes de securite et de salubrite en cuisine Solides competences en leadership, communication et relations interpersonnelles Capacite a rester calme sous pression et a gerer efficacement les periodes achalandees Excellentes aptitudes organisationnelles et capacite a gerer plusieurs taches a la fois Flexibilite pour travailler de soir, de fin de semaine et les jours feries au besoin
