CAD Technologist/Coordinato

r position in our

Ottawa

office

.

This position is responsible for the preparation of CAD work with a focus on housing construction projects, involving detailed files, some survey interpretation and a variety of reference data. The successful applicant must be able to process field data, provide calculations to field staff and prepare topographic and legal surveys. This position also requires interaction with field staff to ensure proper configuration of data/sketches and conformity to client specifications.

Job Responsibilities

Import and process field data Provide calculations to field staff Prepare legal survey plans Interact with field staff to ensure proper configuration of data/sketches and conformity with local by-laws and Registry Office information Liaise with clients regarding plan details Maintain accurate records, timesheets, and other files pertaining to the job Ability to process data towards the preparation of engineering (topographic) surveys is an asset

Qualifications

College diploma or University degree in a Survey, Civil, or a CAD program 2-5 years of land surveying experience, CAD experience, and/or calculating experience Minimum of 3 years working with either AutoCAD or Microstation and Microsoft Office A strong understand of integrated survey systems, including scale factors, grid/ground relationships, UTM/MTM and original/CSRS Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills Excellent organization and project management skills Ability to effectively communicate problems and concerns with parties involved
