Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CAD Technician


to join our dynamic Design team in Beamsville, ON. The CAD Technician will be responsible for creating and preparing accurate 3D and 2D drawings for irrigation rooms, pump skids, and greenhouse growing systems. The CAD Technician will support cross-departmental functions including Sales, Production, Installation, and Project Management.

Responsibilities:




Develop 3D models and assemblies in SolidWorks for irrigation rooms, greenhouse layouts, and pump skid systems. Create detailed 2D drawings for welded and plumbing assemblies. Generate drawing packages to support Bill of Materials (BOMs), manufacturing, and on-site installation. Collaborate with Sales, Production, Installation, and Project Management teams to ensure designs meet technical and operational requirements. Participate in project meetings to align timelines, deliverables, and design intent. Maintain accuracy and revision control of all CAD files and related documentation. Follow internal quality assurance procedures and industry design standards. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts in design workflows and documentation practices. Compliance with all company policies, safety protocols, and ISO quality standards is mandatory. Participate in training programs and ongoing professional development is expected. Perform other duties as assigned by the Design Manager.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, skills, and abilities required)




Post-secondary diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Drafting and Design, Industrial Design, or a related technical field. Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a CAD Technician, Mechanical Designer, or related role, preferably in the agricultural, environmental systems, or manufacturing industries. Experience designing plumbing, piping, or mechanical assemblies is highly desirable. Prior experience in a manufacturing, construction, or custom equipment design environment is considered an asset. Familiarity with greenhouse systems, irrigation technologies, or controlled environment agriculture (CEA) is an advantage but not required. Proficient in SolidWorks, with expertise in 3D modeling, weldments, and assembly drawings. Working knowledge of AutoCAD for 2D drafting. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Excellent time management and multitasking abilities in a deadline-driven environment. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Strong organizational and problem-solving capabilities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments. Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and adapt to innovative technologies and design practices.
