This role is responsible for the timely and accurate creation of the complete production drawing package. You will work within the Engineering team to complete design concepts and create shop drawings, while liaising with manufacturing and suppliers to ensure proper processes and specifications are captured.

Key Responsibilities

Create production drawings and engineering models as directed by the Specials Designer/Engineering Supervisor. Ensure that all drawings created meet ISO and Teknion standards. Work at the direction of the Engineering Supervisor to complete design concepts, presentation drawings, shop drawings, and work order packages for manufacturing. Support in managing Insight, Construct 15, and Imos software to maintain and improve manufacturing output, including optimizing Machine Configuration Files (MCF) for CNC machines. Assist in software programs (Construct 15 / Imos, Insight, AutoCAD, Solidworks, Microsoft Office programs) used to generate product symbols and install guides for product catalogues. Support in the development and integration of new software to enhance the Engineering process for manufacturing (e.g., Nesting software, Panel Saw Optimizer). Assist in software upgrades, enhancements, customization, and testing. Liaise and support manufacturing, ensuring the proper manufacturing process is captured on drawings. Liaise with suppliers for product specifications as required, ensuring the drawing reflects supplier manufacturing capabilities. Create special/custom and production drawings as directed by the Specials/Engineering Supervisor. Provide quality control of drawing information by checking the work of others on the Engineering team. Update existing CAD database and obsolete/out-of-date drawings for maintenance. Meet the requirements of the ECN process, ISO, and other process standards.

Qualifications

5+ years of Solidworks experience and AutoCAD 2D and 3D experience. 5+ years of drafting and detailing experience. AutoCAD Certification preferred. Solidworks Certification (CSWP or above) preferred. 5+ years of 2020 Construct 15 (Imos) experience. Knowledge of Solidworks PDM system. Strong knowledge of the working of PC, Excel, and a word processing package. Knowledge of various manufacturing processes. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and manufacturing BOMs. Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and objectives. Ability to work in a team environment. Excellent communication and writing skills.
