Position Summary:



Reporting to the Sr. Manager Engineering , we are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Draftsperson / Designer to join our Engineering team. This role is critical in supporting the planning and execution of downstream petroleum projects, retail farm stores, fertilizer and crop chemical warehouses, with a focus on initial site layouts, stakeholder coordination, and development permitting. The successful candidate will bring a strong technical background and a collaborative mindset to help deliver high-quality, compliant designs that meet operational and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and refine initial site layouts concepts for downstream petroleum facilities, retail stores, and related infrastructure. Collaborate with internal stakeholders including operations, environmental, and construction teams to ensure design alignment with business needs. Consult, prepare and submit documentation required for development permits, including directing consultants to ensure compliance with municipal and provincial regulations. Produce technical drawings using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit). Support engineering and project teams with design revisions, redlines, and as-built documentation. Maintain organized records of drawings, permits, and correspondence. Assist in site assessments, feasibility studies and due diligence assessments as it pertains to property acquisitions. Stay current with industry standards, codes, and best practices. updating and developing UFA standards.

Qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of experience in technical drafting/design, preferably in downstream petroleum, retail or related agricultural sectors. Proven experience in site layout design and development permitting processes. Diploma or degree from a recognized technical college or university in Civil Engineering, Drafting, or a related field. Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools. Strong understanding of municipal permitting and regulatory requirements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively. Experience working with downstream petroleum site layouts, retail buildings and civil site planning would be an asset. Familiarity with Western Canadian Provincial development permit processes and municipal planning processes would be an asset.
