Job Description

This role is responsible for the understanding and experience in CAD / Drafting with the understanding of Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Investigation type services. Utility plans, reports and drawings are to be accurate, drawn to scale, and suitably detailed to convey the necessary information required by the project and customer.

This is currently a Hybrid work opportunity and will require one-day per week at our office in Vaughan.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Read, understand, and interpret various types of utility drawings.
• Perform initial Quality Control (QC) of field deliverables according to standards and best practices.
• Ability to communicate directly with field staff if there are any questions or clarifications required within the documents received from the field.
• Download, organize and review all field documents and files for completeness.
• Ensure that utility record drawings are collected, complete and reviewed thoroughly. This includes any drawings and plans provided by the client.
• Understand and correlate between utility records, construction plans, and field documents (sketches / notations / survey files) to document the presence of underground and/or aerial utilities.
• Ability to complete CAD work in accordance with Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) Standards, CI/ASCE 38-02.
• Review and calculate sewer invert data where necessary or required.
• Work through and complete various types of deliverables and supporting documents, including but not limited to; Drawings, Reports, Traffic Control Plans (as per OTM Book 7), etc.
• Consolidate with the Project Coordinators to ensure client specific requirements are met.

REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma with at least (2 - 3) years of experience in a similar position, and/or a College or Technical Program (Civil / Structural Engineering, or Architectural Technologies).
• Experience, knowledge, and understanding of CI/ASCE 38-02 Standards and the applicable \xe2\x80\x9cQuality Levels.\xe2\x80\x9d
• Ability to complete CAD / Drafting in various Municipal and Regional CAD Drafting Standards.
• Working knowledge and experience with various computer software\xe2\x80\x99s, such as; AutoCAD, MicroStation, Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), etc.
• Ability to plan and organize workload to meet scheduled deadlines and project budget with minimal or no direct supervision.
• Ability to multi-task and work both independently and within a team environment.
• Willing to learn and conduct additional tasks.
• Demonstrate professional oral and written communication skills.
• General knowledge of Construction and Engineering industry.
• Must possess a valid G Level Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License (accompanied with a clean driver abstract)
