  • Support the Bitumen Production and/or Upgrading and Utilities Engineering Team in activities relating to operations, maintenance and/or construction support
  • Understand process plant operation and equipment
  • Assist in daily rounds and routines associated with all steam generators
  • Collaborate with project and operations teams to ensure proper alignment with operations needs and requirements
  • Review assets and data to see where we can improve the frequency of maintenance and be able to improve our uptime on equipment
  • Participate in developing cost effective strategies for equipment that is problematic in the field
  • Assist engineers in producing maintenance work packages, gathering field measurements and data
  • Focus on safety, cost reduction and reliability

  • Location: Horizon Oil Sands site, Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Shift: 4 x 3
  • Term: January 8-month

Skills & Qualifications:
  • Currently enrolled in your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of an Electrical, Instrumentation, or Chemical Engineering degree program
  • Previous engineering experience is considered an asset
  • Excellent team work and communications skills
  • Possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver’s license or equivalent out of province license with a reasonably clean driver abstract and comfortable driving work trucks in a safe manner
  • Software Skills, such as Microsoft Office
  • Enjoy working outside
