Job Overview:

The CAD Drafter position entails creating CAD drawings and solid models of hydraulic fittings using readily available standards, and utilizing Mastercam to produce G-code programs for production on CNC lathes. As Adaptall is growing, the need is arising to regularly provide drawings of custom designed parts, but to also to reduce bottlenecks in production by streamlining drafting and CNC programming. Solid modeling is also becoming a major marking tool as it replaces traditional photography in catalogues. Success in this position will be based upon the number of drawings produced but most importantly the impact on reduced downtime.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Create drawings and solid models of specified parts on as needed basis Convert drawings or solid models to G-code using Mastercam Send code to machines, modify as needed, run first off and get part approved for production Reduce downtime during programming and setups, alleviate pressure on Engineering Manager Work with web designer in order to get solid models available on website and linked to specific SKUs (future) Assist with product development, arrange for 3D printed prototypes, etc. Occasionally modify existing designs on as needed basis Assist with data entry and analysis

Qualifications:

Diploma or Certificate for CAD Design or Drafting and Mastercam Strong familiarity with G-code on Siemens and Fanuc controllers 2 years' experience in field Experience with hydraulic fittings a major plus Great communication and collaboration skills Able to travel daily to Pickering manufacturing shop, and occasionally to Mississauga office

Pay: $25.00-$27.00 per hour
