Summary:

This position is responsible for supporting the Customer Service Specialist in assisting with the processing of ocean shipments.

:

SHIPMENT RELEASE

  • Releases shipment in timely manner to avoid extra/storage charges
  • Coordinates with customers regarding original B/L, customs clearance, payment, and shipment status
  • Liaises with carriers regarding payment of fee and surrendering of OBLs
TRACKING SHIPMENTS
  • Traces and tracks Full Container Load (FCL) and Less Than Container Load (LCL) shipments on a daily basis
  • Monitors CN, CP and various warehouses for shipment status
SHIPMENT DELIVERY
  • Coordinates with carriers for delivery appointment
  • Obtains delivery quotes from various companies for LCL shipment and chooses the most appropriate company for delivery
  • Resolves issues on delivery schedule, picking up shipment, waiting time etc.
  • Coordinates with various warehouses regarding shipment release, dock charges, last free day etc.
OTHER DUTIES
  • Assists CCS with other mode clearances
  • Manages inbound emails and calls from customers ensuring all their inquiries are answered
  • Supports Supervisor/Manager with service or process related issues
  • Performs any other duties as advised by the Manager
  • High School Diploma required
  • Minimum 1 year of Freight Forwarding experience, preferably with a reputed Transportation and Brokerage company
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, Outlook, Trax and office equipment (fax machine / photocopiers / printers / scanners)
  • Excellent communication, organization, inter-personal, problem solving skills is a must
  • Ability to interact with a wide range of customers, carriers and brokers
