Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Meat Cutter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the food industry, particularly in butchery and meat preparation. This role involves cutting, trimming, and packaging various types of meat while ensuring compliance with food safety standards. The Meat Cutter will also provide excellent customer service, assisting customers with their meat selections and answering any questions they may have.

Duties

Cut, trim, and prepare various cuts of meat according to customer specifications and company standards. Ensure all meat products are handled safely and stored properly to maintain freshness and quality. Package meat products for display and sale, ensuring proper labeling and pricing. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the meat department, adhering to food safety regulations. Assist customers by providing knowledgeable recommendations and answering inquiries regarding meat products. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient operations within the kitchen environment. Monitor inventory levels of meat products and assist in ordering supplies as needed.

Requirements

Previous experience in the food industry, specifically in food preparation or butchery is preferred. Strong knowledge of food handling practices and food safety regulations. Proficiency in meat cutting techniques and familiarity with various cuts of meat. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers. Kitchen experience is a plus, demonstrating an understanding of kitchen operations. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and perform lifting tasks associated with the role.
