Position Summary

ABURI Market is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented

Butcher

to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate has strong technical butchery skills, a deep understanding of meat quality and yield, and a passion for working with premium proteins while maintaining the highest standards of quality and food safety.

Key Responsibilities

Perform precise butchery of beef, Wagyu, and pork according to company standards Conduct yield testing and costing to ensure optimal product utilization Maintain accurate inventory records and complete regular inventory counts Monitor and uphold quality control standards for all products Ensure proper storage, rotation, and handling of all meats Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe work environment Demonstrate knowledge of premium cuts and preparation techniques Knowledge of basic Japanese cuts is considered a strong asset Engage with customers as needed to answer questions, recommend cuts, and upsell products Support team members and contribute to a collaborative working environment Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

Valid Food Safe certification Minimum 2-3 years of professional butchery experience Ability to work full-time with open availability Strong knowledge of beef, Wagyu, and pork Experience with yield testing, costing, and inventory management High attention to detail and commitment to quality standards Comfortable engaging with customers and providing product recommendations Strong communication and teamwork skills
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
