The Role

In this role, you are responsible for performing assigned production tasks efficiently and safely within the operations environment. You play a key role in maintaining production flow, adhering to sanitation and safety standards, and contributing to a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement.



As a Butcher, you are expected to demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and a commitment to quality and safety in all aspects of your work.

Responsibilities




Operate band saw, grinding, burger-making, and related production equipment safely and efficiently, in accordance with company policies and training. Providing support in ensuring the display case is clean, organized and filled within appropriate business volumes and meets and/or exceeds Company standards Complete assigned production tasks accurately and within established timelines.
Follow all health and safety regulations and report any unsafe conditions or equipment concerns to a supervisor immediately.
Work collaboratively with other team members and maintain a "no job too small" attitude. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Production Manager or Supervisor. Demonstrate a willingness to learn and apply new skills to support ongoing operational improvements. Conduct cleaning and sanitation duties, including the washing down of rooms and equipment, surface sanitization, and removal of waste and by-products. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area in compliance with food safety requirements and internal sanitation standards. Advanced meat cutting, including muscle-seeming, whole carcass breakdown and portion cutting.



Working Conditions




Work is primarily performed in a refrigerated or temperature-controlled production environment. The role involves standing for extended periods, performing repetitive motions, and handling raw meat products. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including protective clothing, gloves, and safety footwear, must be worn at all times as required. Work hours may vary based on production schedules and operational requirements. Lifting and handling up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly. The environment requires strict adherence to hygiene, sanitation, and safety procedures at all times.



Qualifications




Related experience is considered an asset but not required. A strong desire to learn and develop as a Meat Industry Professional. A team player who can communicate and work well with coworkers. Passion for quality food, sustainability, and local sourcing. Strong knife skills.

Then, in 2017, an expansion saw the launch of "The Shop" a retail space designed to connect everyday meat lovers and home cooks with the same ethical and sustainable products that were being enjoyed by top chefs for years.
