We are looking to strengthen our rapidly growing team with the addition of a Business Systems Analyst/Coordinator. This position is part of the Digital Collaboration team that enables and accelerates modern workplace productivity and collaboration adoption, promotes awareness and usage of digital collaboration and productivity apps and provides end-to-end support, through the delivery of modern digital experience across:

Reporting to the Manager of Digital Collaboration, the Business Systems Analyst/Coordinator coordinates the cross-platform capabilities and activities within Modern Collaboration Architecture, and brings the solution to the business by coordinating all elements of the services and products collectively delivered by Digital Collaboration and other teams in NSDS. This position assists to develop the capabilities in a way that enables the platforms and products to continue to align with the needs of the clients across the Provincial Government, Nova Scotia Health (NSH) and IWK, as well as to the citizens of Nova Scotia.

Primary Accountabilities

The Business Systems Analyst/Coordinator is responsible for:
  • Initial triage from our intake process, work closely with clients to understand their needs, assess business requirements and opportunities;
  • Perform High-Level business/request analysis, formulate options and define recommended solutions by consulting with business owners and clients and our team. Solutions may be business, process, technology and/or service oriented;
  • Coordinate Digital Collaboration work within our team and with other teams such as Emerging Platforms, Digital Communications, Service Desk, End User Compute;
  • Lead the preparation and documentation of: business requirements, functional requirements, business cases, business process definitions, workflow process and data models, and implementation plans;
  • Achieve understanding and buy-in for planned system and process changes;
  • Develop and maintain open lines of communication;
  • Prepare and deliver progress reports;
  • Create and manage project plans;
  • Participate in departmental committees and working groups;
  • Determine and manage client expectations, respond to escalated issues;
  • Prioritize and deliver the coordination work in the agile, customer-focused and internet-era ways of working;
  • Working collaboratively across government and with various stakeholders and sectors to build collaborative relationships and innovate.
Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have a Bachelor\'s Degree in Computer Science plus a minimum of three (3) years\' experience or graduation from a recognized Information Technology or Information Management program plus three years and six months of experience (or the equivalent combination of training and experience).

You can demonstrate with evidence your experience with the following:
  • Knowledge and understanding of business analysis processes and methodologies;
  • Knowledge of project management methods to actively participate in and support Senior Project Managers and Platform Lead in cross-functional projects;
  • Analytical skills and experience to elicit and develop business requirements, functional requirements, business cases, business process definitions, workflow process and data models, and implementation plans;
  • Ability to collect, evaluate, simplify, and disseminate data and information from multiple sources, resolve conflicts and differentiate between actual and required user needs;
  • Ability to proactively keep abreast of new emerging technologies;
  • Ability to interview, facilitate working groups and developing strong relationship;
  • Ability to solve problems, make decisions and/or recommendations;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written);
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a cross-functional team;
  • Strong organizational skills that facilitate managing multiple tasks simultaneously under tight deadlines.

Pay Grade: PR 14

Salary Range: $2,640.65 - $3,215.50 Bi-Weekly
