About the Opportunity

As a Technical Specialist (Computer Services Officer 3) for the End User Compute (EUC) team within Mission IT and Core Internal Services you will:

  • Provide operational support for internal and client projects including coordinating smaller projects from start to finish
  • Connect with internal team members and external clients to ensure early awareness of projects, understanding of requirements, and engagement of the EUC team to meet the technical requirements and timelines of projects
  • Perform and/or coordinate application packaging work to ensure that application versions meet security requirements of NSDS and operational requirements of EUC teams
  • Work collaboratively with other sections of Government and with Nova Scotia Health and IWK clients to identify and resolve their technical issues and needs.
  • Set work priorities in collaboration with the manager.
  • Maintain and monitor systems to guarantee availability, compliance, and quality. In-scope systems could include device management systems such as JAMF or Intune, Azure Virtual Desktop, VMWare Horizon, or Beyond Trust Remote Support.
  • Provide technical advice to Technical Analysts to assist in the more complex operational activities.
  • Provide support after hours on a standby rotation schedule
Qualifications and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have a bachelor's degree in Computer Science plus a minimum of three (3) years of experience or graduation from a recognized Information Technology program plus three (3) years and six (6) months of experience (or the equivalent combination of training and experience).

Related experience must include a well-established history of supporting enterprise environments using configuration management systems such as Microsoft Intune, JAMF, or Blackberry UEM, AD/AAD.

Knowledge of project management methodology, ITIL processes and change management processes are also assets. You must demonstrate a high degree of logical problem-solving ability with well-developed oral and written communication skills. You must also demonstrate that you can lead and contribute to an IT support team by working on multiple tasks at the same time and work well with people. Ideally, you will be flexible and adaptable to changing business priorities.

We will assess the above qualifications and competencies using one or more of the following tools: written examination, standardized tests, oral presentations, interview(s), and reference checks.

Pay Grade: PR 14

Salary Range: $2,563.74 - $3,121.84 Bi-Weekly
