As the Business Strategist, you will be responsible for providing ongoing strategic and operational support to Calgary Transit with a focus on both internal and external facing priority projects. In this role, you will create long-term strategies, research industry best practices, and analyze Calgary Transit data to develop political and strategic recommendations. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, analyze trends, and formulate strategic positions. Primary duties include:Develop strategies and policies to guide business unit operations.
Provide strategic and policy expertise, identify gaps, assess risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Document processes and standard operating procedures.
Build relationships with City staff, business partners, and external organizations.
Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiencies; create templates and reports to track progress. Apply project management skills to support interdisciplinary teams in developing process improvements, supporting team building, undertaking data gathering and analysis, identifying problems and developing resolutions.
Identify and evaluate existing/emerging issues and develops plans, strategies, and tactics to address issues and monitor for improvement/resolutions.
Prepare reports, presentations, and deliver recommendations to divisional teams, business unit leadership, management teams and the public.
Produce memos, strategies, plans, briefing notes, presentations, business cases, and data and financial analysis to meet Calgary Transits requirements.
