We are currently looking for a Business Planning Specialist to join our team in Mississauga, Ontario.

This role will be responsible for the research, monitoring and reporting out of Nissan and Infiniti sales performance to all levels of the company. Responsible for managing the collection and organization of presentation materials from multiple areas of the company that are used to drive decision making in the 2 Key Performance Review meetings each month. Responsible for the analysis and interpretation of meaning associated with the 20 DAY sales data throughout the month. Responsible for the maintenance and updating of the NCI historical Fleet sales database. Responsible for the analysis of the differences between month end \xe2\x80\x9creported sales\xe2\x80\x9d results and \xe2\x80\x9cIHS Markit\xe2\x80\x9d Pure Retail registration data. Provides insights into the meaning of these differences to CMMs and Management through competitive reports and PRM2 (Performance Review Meeting) presentation materials.

Job functions Include but are not limited to:

  • Sales Reporting - Responsible for the timely collection of sales data from various functions within the company and outside the company and assembling this data into reports for dissemination to the Chief Marketing Managers, Senior Managers and Directors. Analyzes and creates presentation materials for: monthly TIV Review Meeting (i.e. Winners & Losers Segment and Pen charts, Fleet impact on Pure Retail results, Fleet contribution to YoY Segment Growth etc.). Analyzes the market, Brand and Model sales performances, compares these to Nissan/Infiniti specific goals and identifies reasons why the performance was or was not up to the desired standards. Daily, weekly and monthly sales performance for the industry by manufacturer, segment and model.
  • Manages the Development and Assembly of \xe2\x80\x9cPlanning decks\xe2\x80\x9d (presentations) critical to the running of the 2 Nissan PRM meetings (PRM#1 & PRM#2). Creates CPLAN materials specific to the presentation of: PTIV (Premium Market TIV), Regional PTIV Brand strengths and PTIV Segment trends for presentation in Infiniti PRM#1 & #2 Meetings.
  • Responsible for the Analysis of Sales Trends at: 20 and 30 day intervals throughout each month. Assessment and communication of: TIV strength, SAAR data, Selling Day adjusted Nissan and Infiniti Sales pace, Key competitor models impact on monthly brand results.
  • Responsible for the management of the \xe2\x80\x9cIHS Markit Registrations database and generation of the monthly Planning tool that allows CMM teams to compare Reported Sales (volumes/shares) to Pure Retail Registration data on a National, Regional and Brand/Model basis.
  • Responsible for the management of the Fleet sales database and the collecting of new Fleet data and publishing of the monthly Fleet report.
  • Provides ad hoc sales analysis, reporting and analytical support to the Corporate Planning Management and CMM teams.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Knowledge: A university degree in Math, Business, Finance/Accounting, Statistics or related field with at least 2 years of experience as a market analyst in the Automotive industry or related industry. Firm grasp of the North American vehicle market is required. The applicant will have advanced skills using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint. Working familiarity with Excel macros, VLOOKUP, pivot tables is required as is a working knowledge of Tableau Desktop and Oracle query system used to access the electronic data warehouse (EDW). Familiarity with the \xe2\x80\x9cIHS Markit\xe2\x80\x9d (Vehicle Registrations) data CatalystInsight system and Maritz mTAB data queries is an asset.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Position requires ability to plan tasks involving inputs from many different shareholders in a very compressed timeline. Incumbent must ensure that target data received from various internal clients (Fleet, Distribution, Sales etc.) is both accurate and timely. Good presentation skills both verbal and written are essential to providing a clear and effective understanding of how data integrity impacts complex processes & analysis outcomes. Ability to work in a fast-paced business environment that includes multiple and conflicting deadlines is a must.
  • Complexity and Problem Solving: Incumbent must maintain a clear understanding of the various sales targets used within the company and know where to find and update these changing numbers every month. Incumbent must be familiar with the subtleties of how: BP targets, Official FY targets, Operational targets, NNF in and NNF out targets, Fleet in & Fleet out volumes must be used in order to present a correct understanding of current sales status to NCI\xe2\x80\x99s various reports (TIV Meeting, 10-20 Day Report, PRM presentations). From time to time changes to the sales\xe2\x80\x99 presentation template will require detailed process analysis and design creativity on the part of the incumbent to ensure that data integrity and accuracy are maintained as new ways of looking at targets and achievement are implemented. For example, recent changes to the segmentation definitions for the Small SUV and Mid-size SUV required a significant rework to the sales and fleet associated with the models in these segments. It is critical that the Specialist work with the Sales Planning Analyst to ensure there is alignment between the segment definitions for FLEET and sales.
  • Sensory and Physical Demands: The position entails a moderate degree of sensory effort (i.e. Looking at the computer screen, secondary research on the Internet and concentrating on analyzing data for other day to day activities). There is limited physical effort (i.e. keyboarding).
  • Decision-making/Impact of the Position: The incumbent is responsible for understanding the process by which sales numbers are assembled and compared to targets and YoY actuals. Intelligent quality control is critical to the Business Planning Specialist\xe2\x80\x99s role. Specialist is responsible for the updating monthly sales information and ensuring the accuracy of the NCI sales history files. For example, it is the Specialist responsibility to ensure the backwards integrity of all sales and fleet data associated with the segmentation changes. These may occur from one Fiscal Year to the other and need to be corrected for. Specialist must be aware of new Nameplate entering the marketing place in order to maintain proper segmentation perspective. This position is also responsible for the accuracy of the selling day and reporting day numbers that drive the MoM and YoY estimates in the 20-day report. This critical to the accuracy of the month landing estimate. These reports are the basis of the company\xe2\x80\x99s view of the competitive marketplace hence critical to any sales potential understanding.
