The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Global Business Planning Specialist to join our Integrated Business Planning team in Toronto. This is a 14 months fixed term position.

Is part of the global Integrated Business Planning (IBP) that coordinates efforts across Vale Base Metals Businesses (Global business including North Atlantic, South Atlantic & APAC Supply Chain that generates Nickel, Copper and byproducts). The role supports and influences decision making across all Base Metals operations to maximize business value, to identify opportunities, conflicts and synergies within the production and supply chain aspects of the business.. The role will provide data analysis on trends and deviations to provide Base Metals leaderships with facts in order to provide information for decision making.

Additionally, in this position you will\xe2\x80\xa6

  • Represent the Global Integrated Business Planning Manager when needed at the local level.
  • Coordinate technically the IBP Global team including but not limited to:
  • the coordination of Integrated Business Planning Monthly process and Performance Monitoring efforts across Vale Base Metals (Global business including North Atlantic, South Atlantic & APAC Supply Chain that generates Nickel, Copper and byproducts)
  • the Global IOC Interface coordination & governance (Monthly Integrated Business Planning of Sales & Operations and associated functions)
  • a high-performance attitude supported by PDCA approach minimizing info errors or delays, great focus on organization of routines and management of exceptions as well as VPS Vale process for performance evaluation
  • Support actively the IBP Monthly Reconciliation of Supply & Demand to deliver optimized plans and value trade-off decisions by
  • Connecting mainly with Commercial team to coordinate the Demand Planning monthly inputs update into IBP process as well as leading the Demand Planning review meetings.
  • Working together with IBP production systems teams to align on production Planning monthly inputs update into IBP process.
  • Monitoring the indicators related to the adherence to plans (Sale & Operations) and coordinating the interfaces to elaborate action plans to address and eliminate deviations as well as exceptions treatment.
  • Coordinating routine for reconciliation of Supply & Demand volumes by product family and resulting inventory projection.
  • Coordinating inventory management process, inventory positions & decisions by product family according to IBP policy.
  • Connecting with Finance team to align on Monthly inputs update into IBP process: Margins, Cash Flow, Ebitda, etc.
  • Coordinating development of value trade-offs to support IBP Committee consensus decision making process
  • Challenging IBP stakeholders, where applicable and in a respectful way to ensure the best Business decisions in terms of value and risk
  • Supporting the IBP Monthly Executive Approvals process and meeting to close IBP cycle which is led by the Head of Integrated Planning.
  • Support Manager, Global Business Integrated Planning on the management and improvement of the process, projects and critical activities:
  • the standardization and improvement of IBP processes, templates and KPIs;
  • the development and implementation of optimization tools and projects to support Global value-optimizing decisions together with other IBP managers
  • the timely and consistent operation of the IBP process across the Base Metals business, recognizing strong performance and identifying and addressing issues as they arise
  • the identification and implementation of opportunities to improve the IBP process
  • the collaboration work with Base Metals Master Plan (long term) that will guide the main capital and current investments in order to guarantee capabilities and business strategy are aligned with the company\xe2\x80\x99s strategic planning
  • the collaboration work with Base Metals Asset Performance management as well as other Technical Areas to support IBP process
  • Perform and/or actively support the IBP Monthly Reconciliation of Supply & Demand to deliver optimized plans and value trade-off decisions by
  • Connecting mainly with Commercial team to coordinate the Demand Planning monthly inputs update into IBP process as well as actively participate on the Demand Planning review meetings.
  • Working together with IBP production systems teams to align on production Planning monthly inputs update into IBP process.

  • Stakeholder Management
  • Facilitate IBP planning cycle or associated meetings, register minutes, advise key stakeholders on best course of actions
  • Initiate working relationships beyond immediate team, fostering cross commodity collaboration and maximizing IBP synergies and opportunities for the Vale BM
  • Support Vale\'s competitiveness through Continuous Process and Systems Improvement
  • Continuous review and/or implementation of new processes, governance and technologies that promote greater integration and optimization of the Base Metals value chain as per VPS Vale model.
  • Actively participate on the development and/or implementation of:
  • Performance meetings to ensure achievements of Goals, PDCA process, Team and Business alignment
  • technology tools and analytics methodologies, promoting the improvement of operational efficiency and commercial profitability.
  • studies and projects to raise commercial, operational and finance standards and identify opportunities for improvement in the performance and / or safety of Base Metals Business.
About You

Education:
  • Undergraduate Degree
  • Supply Chain Management (S&OP, Planning associated formation) is preferred
  • Industrial Engineering or MBA is preferred
