Navitas is seeking to employ a Business Planning Analyst to join our North American team in Burnaby, BC (Hybrid).

Reporting to Director, Business Planning and Analysis, the Business Planning Analyst will join the growing Corporate Services Team and support all business planning activities for Navitas\xe2\x80\x99 operations in North America. This includes supporting month end performance reporting, performing sensitivity analysis for new business opportunities, conducting industry research, and preparing board presentations. This position will also help advance market forecasting tools and develop in-depth research reports. Along with other team members, the position will have the opportunity to work closely with multiple stakeholders including senior executives to build on the existing reporting platform to aid the overall management of the North American portfolio and drive strategies for the region.
Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor financial performance of each business unit in North America and provide timely updates to management.
  • Compile financial and operational data, perform variance analysis, and draft reporting materials to support monthly reporting requirements for Head Office in Australia.
  • Respond to ad-hoc information requests from Head Office and provide analysis within tight deadlines.
  • Collect market data and develop new reports to deliver insightful and up-to-date industry information to senior management.
  • Provide analytical and system support for the annual and quarterly budgeting processes including performing detailed financial forecasts.
  • Assist in the preparation of professional presentation materials for quarterly board meetings and other strategic discussions for senior management team.
  • Partner with stakeholders and help deliver successful business outcomes for their teams.
  • Other duties as required.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience
  • Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum of 1+ years experience in a related role.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts with ability to develop new financial models and provide clear analysis through presentations.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and meet critical deadlines under pressure.
  • Able to navigate through both internal and external information sources and organize large datasets for analysis.
  • High degree of computer literacy, including proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite, i.e., Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Power BI, etc.
  • Needs to be a self-starter who can take ownership of projects with minimal supervision.
  • High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with members in different locations and time zones.
  • Valid passport and ability to travel.
  • Legal right to work in Canada.

Desirable Skills
  • Understanding of data analysis tools such as Python, R, Excel, or Power BI to effectively analyze, manipulate and visualize data.
  • In pursuance of a financial designation (CPA, CFA etc.) considered an asset.
