Business Intelligence in Category Management enables evidence-based decision-making by transforming procurement, contract, and market data into actionable insights. The role focuses on analyzing spend, supplier, and market information to enhance performance reporting, ensuring the unit has access to reliable, timely, and meaningful intelligence.
As a key contributor within a collaborative team, this position is responsible for delivering business intelligence capabilities that support the information needs of both internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
As a Business Intelligence Analyst, you will:
Develop and deliver work products using diverse datasets, including procurement, contracts, finance, and market data.
Utilize technology platforms such as SAP, Power BI, and Alteryx to meet evolving stakeholder demands for information.
Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams composed of in-house staff and external contract resources.
Conduct data analysis and prepare clear, actionable reporting outputs.
Gather, document, and validate business and technical requirements.
Design, build, and maintain information products that support decision-making.
Capture and manage business and technical metadata for information products.
Mandatory Requirements:
Experience with articulating and translating technical language for non-technical customers both verbally and in writing.
Experience with data concepts such as: Extract Transform Load (ETL), Operational Data Store (ODS), Online Transaction Processing (OLTP), etc.
Experience with presenting data in queries, dashboards, and reports in a way that is easy to understand.
Direct hands-on experience designing, developing, and optimizing advanced Power BI solutions that transform regulated and complex datasets into actionable insights for policy, operations and executive reporting
Experience in creating and implementing business intelligence requirements
Experience with dimensional modeling techniques.
Experience working in a data warehouse/business intelligence or relevant data environment in either a development or support role.
Nice to Have Requirements:
Ability to collaborate and work with various stakeholders.
Ability to interact and communicate professionally with a diverse group.
Ability to think critically to select the most appropriate input data, modeling method, indicated variables, and techniques.
Experience using Microsoft SQL.
Experience with PowerBI, PowerView, Microsoft SQL Reporting, and Analytical Services.
Experience with relational database modeling techniques.
