WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:



Reporting to the Director of Business Development, your role as

Business Development Specialist - Manufacturing

is to identify, engage, and close new and repeat business for the company within the Eastern Canadian industrial manufacturing Community.

This role is specifically focused on driving new and existing business within the Manufacturing/Industry 4.0 Program at Enginuity. Industry 4.0 is the process of modernising manufacturing, assessing a new or existing manufacturing process and driving data, insights and process to improve productivity and commercial outcomes for clients.

The role is comprised of three main pillars. First, is to act as the initial point of contact for targeting and vetting incoming leads and potential opportunities. Second is as a key member of the business development team, working with the marketing team to sustainably grow Enginuity's business. Third is to become the focal point for manufacturing modernisation within the regional ecosystem of funding partners, clusters, industry associations and consultants.

The role consists of the following elements:

Opportunity Identification:



Target and meet with clients and prospects to tour facilities to identify and understand productivity challenges. Ask probing questions to uncover root causes and desired outcomes. Establish a go-forward plan in the best interests of the client.

Internal communications:



Investigate client pain points with internal engineering and R&D teams. Highlight the need for scalable, low-maintenance solutions that improve productivity and generate measurable Return on Investment (ROI).

Tailored Solutions Mindset:



Recommend custom solutions that address client specific pain points. Use client feedback to fine-tune company issued proposals, ensuring alignment with operational goals. Develop a network of key supply chain partners to drive collaborative problem solving.

Client Communication & Trust Building:



Present the tailored solution, clearly articulating how we solve their specific challenges and contribute to long-term cost savings. Provide supporting data, like case studies or simulations, to help clients justify investment. Be the 'voice of the customer' inside Enginuity.

Continuous Feedback Loop:



During and after implementation, check in with the client regularly to gather feedback on team and system performance. Identify additional areas for improvement and next opportunity. Share these insights with the product team to improve future iterations and strengthen the relationship.

The routine responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:



Target Market and Lead Identification:

Identify target organizations, key relationships and ecosystem partners; and engage through events and tradeshows.

Lead Outreach and Engagement:

Identify and convert leads into opportunities, establish client needs and lead quoting engagements with the technical team.

Opportunity Management - Forecasting:

Manage your lead funnel with accurate data, to simplify operational planning, drive opportunities, close business, spearhead client onboarding, and drive internal kick-off meetings.

CRM Systems Management - Reporting:

Maintain key client relationships and oversee client interaction reporting.

THE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM:



Post-secondary degree or diploma preferred;

relevant experience outweighs qualifications

. Minimum 3 years' experience in business development or operations in a technical/manufacturing environment. Demonstrated capability in understanding client need and translating that into business opportunities. Demonstrated understanding of manufacturing processes and technology. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Strong proficiency with CRM tools and MS Office. Willingness and demonstrated ability to multi-task, address and prioritize assignments. Regional travel will be required.

Our office is located in the heart of Spryfield, but more specifically, at 264 Herring Cove Road in Suite #100. If you know the Spryfield area - we are right across the street from Sobeys, close to the ever-increasing options for interesting lunches, and near to beautiful lakes, forests, and trails.

HOURS OF OPERATION:



Our office is open Monday - Friday between 9am - 5pm. Our corporate culture values work-life balance, allowing a flexible, 8 hour workday. Remote desk options are also available at locations within the regional Innovation Ecosystem, including Dalhousie ideaHUB, C.O.V.E., ThePIER, Ignite Labsabs).
