Position Description As a Business Development Representative, you are a key member of the sales team. We are rapidly growing and need an increased flow of qualified leads for our inside sales team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone has experience as a BDR and is looking to scale their career on the ground floor of an exciting software-as-a-service (SaaS) business. Traveling up to 50% of the time you will be actively attending water industry-focussed conferences and events to promote Pani and build demand. About You You have a passion for sales and enjoy the challenge of working on innovative projects with an equally talented group of co-workers who will both challenge and support you. Fundamentally you want to use your talents and energy to better the world for others and contribute to the responsible management of global water and energy, and CO2 reduction. What you bring to the team

  • University degree in water/chemical engineering, business, or relevant equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3 years in a similar sales role with a SaaS company or a deep understanding of the water treatment industry and a passion for building relationships
  • Excellent networking skills in person and virtually
  • Proficient knowledge in HubSpot or similar CRM or SDR tools
  • An effective communicator and natural relationship builder who can collaborate with and influence a variety of work styles and personalities
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, with a track record of initiative-taking and effective project management skills
  • A positive attitude, willing to jump in and tackle new challenges.
  • Understanding of commercial sales, channel distribution, solutions providers, facility owners & operators within the water treatment sector will be an asset
Responsibilities
  • Become an expert at using lead generation tools to generate lists of target prospect accounts
  • Traveling up to 50% of the time you will be actively attending water industry-focussed conferences and events to promote Pani and build demand
  • Qualify prospects based on their current business challenges and needs using targeted and relevant questions
  • Extensive travel to industry events, trade shows, and conferences aligned with the sales and development strategy
  • Be proficient at using a sales development platform to execute the outreach process consisting of phone, email, and social touches
  • Meet or exceed qualified lead/demos quota every month
  • Strive to continuously improve your sales development process and demonstrate a willingness to learn and implement best practices
  • Represent and demonstrate our company values, brand, and mission
Nice to Have
  • Experience in the water industry, ideally in water/wastewater treatment
  • Experience working for a SaaS startup
