Cavendish Farms is a Global leading producer of frozen food products for Foodservice and Retail markets. The company has state-of-the-art potato processing plants in Canada in Prince Edward Island, Lethbridge, Alberta, and Jamestown, North Dakota, and an appetizer plant in Wheatley, Ontario. Cavendish Farms\xe2\x80\x99 Head Office is in Dieppe, New Brunswick, and the company has sales office locations in Toronto, Montreal, and Boston.

Reporting to the Sr. Director of Sales, Foodservice, the Business Development Manager will be a highly motivated individual with a \xe2\x80\x9ccan do\xe2\x80\x9d attitude. The successful candidate must thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and detail. The ability to multi-task and problem solve is key.

The candidate will be the Cavendish subject matter expert that will work with our broker partners to support the operator adoption of our product platform. In this role the Business Development Manager will help build operator business as well as train and develop our Broker partners to support a best in class operator sales model.

Qualifications:

  • Education Required: Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications or related field
  • Years of Experience Required:
  • 3+ years of experience in food service sales with a manufacturer, broker sales, distributor background, or other relevant sales experience
  • Ability to develop and foster collaborative business relationships with customers and broker sales agents to achieve aligned on business objectives
  • Must have a proven record of success in a consultative sales environment
  • Ability to understand data and identify insights and incorporate into Selling Strategies and Key Initiatives
  • Excellent communication, analytical, problem solving, negotiation and persuasion skills and work well within a high performance team environment
  • Must be able to demonstrate effective time management skills and the ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision, while delivering on-target result
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan operator market activity with the key Broker reps in strategic markets.
  • Educated and develop brokers on the \xe2\x80\x9cCavendish Way\xe2\x80\x9d to sell solutions to operators.
  • Report weekly on market intelligence gained, sales activity and success.
  • Coordinate with Divisional Sales Managers on critical Multi Unit Regional Chain accounts across the regions.
  • Support and improve close rates on strategic operators.
  • Participate in key Broker and Distributor training meetings
  • Participate in key Broker Reviews to discuss operator pipeline, opportunities to improve process and close rates.
