Business Development Manager

Job Description




This role is responsible for the sales support of union labour supply across Canada. You will be responsible for growing sales throughout Canada of unionized labour for maintenance contracts, turnarounds, and project construction. This salaried position will focus on new customer acquisition, identifying and contacting prospects through an outbound approach and developing relationships with new customers. In addition, this role will define the market requirements for current and future areas of growth and identify business opportunities to close sales.

Must possess a bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree in a business discipline, a technical discipline such as Engineering or a relevant trade certificate. Must have seven to ten years in a Business Development role within union supported construction business. You will bring a history of sales management accomplishments and initiative.

This is a permanent position which can be based anywhere in Ontario. Travel of 1 week per month is required in this position.

What would you be doing?

  • Develop business plan and win strategies, including market size and timing, to ensure committed revenue growth and profitability.
  • Prepare action plans by team members as well as by team for effective execution of opportunities while adhering to the written guidelines of our internal Gate Review policy.
  • Maintain positive relationship with Union Hall representatives.
  • Update and maintain accurate records within our company CRM to ensure greater company alignment and communication.
  • Strengthen customer loyalty through continuous communication, becoming a trusted advisor
  • Facilitate growth and expansion of existing business with key accounts and targets, in step with the associated Operational Managers.
  • Initiate and coordinate development and implementation of action plans to access new markets.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of corporate marketing plans as needed.
  • Solicit customer feedback on behalf of the company, while supporting resolution of customer complaints in a timely manner.
  • Travel is required to visit existing program locations and to drive new revenue in expanding markets across Canada.
  • Develops excellent relationships with internal and external clients, and with engineering and matrix counterparts
  • Participates in proposal strategy, development, review, and submission
  • Assists and reviews contract negotiations, operational RFP responses and supports operational sales efforts.
