Business Development Manager, Engineering

Job Description


Our client is looking for an ambitious and energetic Business Development Manager to help expand heir business activities in Canada and US Northeast market. The Business Development Manager will follow the evolution of the market, identify, and explore potential clients, and negotiate contracts. This role has direct interaction with customers to develop and apply effective sales strategies.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement sales objectives for Canada and US Northeast customers to ensure achievement of the Sales & Marketing department goals
- Provide market feedback to the company leadership regarding competitive offerings, prospect needs and generate product development ideas
- Conduct research to identify new markets, potential customers and create action plans for sales opportunities
- Arrange business meetings with prospective clients
- Screen and evaluate potential business opportunities by analyzing market strategies and contractual requirements
- Assist with the technical review and preparation of customer proposals and participate in the technical alignment and negotiation phases of the sales cycle
- Maintain contacts with the most important customers and prospects in order to ensure that positive and long-term relationships are developed
- Ensure compliance with the Management internal System Policy and project quality plan
- Participate actively in the talks, training and other activities that are performed according to the Management System
- Promote products and services

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- B.S. or M.S. in Engineering preferred.
Experience:
- 3-5 years\' experience in process design, engineering, and project management in technical environments.
- 3+ years\' experience in consultative sales, preferably in technical environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
- Excellent negotiation and prospecting skills
- Experienced in the life sciences industries.
- Knowledge in food, cosmetic and/or pharmaceutical industries preferred
- Excellent communication skills. Position located in Quebec, French language skills a plus
- Highly organized with ability to work without supervision
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with teams, great presentation skills and professional attitude
- Excellent analytical and financial skills
- Strong leadership qualities
