We are looking for a Reconciliation Strategy Lead to elevate TELUS\' Reconciliation commitments and Indigenous Reconciliation Action Plan (IRAP). Our team develops and executes on TELUS\' corporate Indigenous Reconciliation commitments and action plan in collaboration with business units across TELUS. Part of the Customer Network Implementation team, we deliver on a world-class customer experience by expanding our fibre-optic infrastructure directly to homes and businesses within Indigenous communities across British Columbia and Alberta. This portfolio is on the cutting edge of innovation in the telecommunications space where TELUS is actively engaged with Indigenous communities to identify opportunities to expand broadband technology and services to areas otherwise unreachable.

This is a fast-growing portfolio and one of the most strategic programs at TELUS.

With a passion for advancing Reconciliation in corporate Canada, you will work with a cross-functional team of internal and external stakeholders to materialize TELUS\' Reconciliation Commitments and Indigenous Reconciliation Action Plan
(IRAP). As a leader within a team, you will use your superior strategic thinking & planning skills to develop and advance strategic Reconciliation initiatives in alignment with TELUS\' Reconciliation commitments and in support of our competitive
customers\' first brand promise.

Here\'s how:

  • Known for your creative solutions, you have demonstrated success driving long-term, multi-pronged reconciliation and/or Indigenous inclusion opportunities that are aligned with the business needs while also supporting Indigenous communities through alignment with Indigenous Ways of Knowing
  • Continually challenge the status-quo by leading and identifying new approaches and strategies for how TELUS can support reconciliation with Indigenous communities and Peoples
  • Lead and partner with cross-functional TELUS teams to ensure strategic implementation of TELUS\'
  • Reconciliation commitments using your superior facilitation skills as you provide support and insight into organizational shifts
  • Support the execution of national programs such as TELUS\' successful progression through the Canadian
  • Council for Aboriginal Business Progressive Aboriginal Relation (PAR) program
  • Build and maintain open, honest and respectful long-term relationships with Indigenous peoples, leaders, industry organization and stakeholders
  • Create project plans and apply project management methodology to programs and initiatives, including leveraging systems and tools (i.e. Google, survey tools, data analysis tools) to support success of TELUS\' Reconciliation goals
  • Balance numerous priorities while anticipating changes and adapting accordingly
  • Proactively build, develop, maintain and manage strong working relationships throughout TELUS and champion the role of TELUS in building trust and understanding with Indigenous governments and communities

Qualifications

  • Strategically minded with an ability to develop and implement innovative plans and ensure reconciliation actions become outcomes that garner excitement and generate interest in the program amongst internal and external
  • stakeholders
  • A passion for supporting knowledge and appreciation of the unique history, cultures and rights of Indigenous Peoples in Canada and passion for supporting Reconciliation
  • Critical thinking skills and knowledge of Indigenous cultural protocols and ability to exercise cultural sensitivity while also conducting research and data analysis to inform business decisions
  • Demonstrated project management skills with ability to manage multiple initiatives, timelines, budget
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, with experience writing for external audience and reporting to executive audiences
  • Proven track record for consistently delivering results while working within tight deadlines and effectively meeting program milestones while managing competing deadline pressures, ambiguity and change
  • With a strong focus on bringing groups together you are able to navigate complex teams and collaborate with influence, with a demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders to gain buy-in, effectively implementing change management practices
  • Confident in working with all levels of an organization, you are persuasive, attentive and have an ability to provide insight and make executive recommendations based on your analysis
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Slides, Docs, Drive, Hangouts etc.)
  • Recipient of a bachelor\'s degree, or equivalent education and/or experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills,with the ability to communicate and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to maintain a competitive advantage

  • An understanding of telecommunications network infrastructure, deployment and operations
