  • Identify opportunities for strategic and operational improvements in day-to-day Student Life data management, workflows and technology
  • Super user function for system administration and configuration of core Student Life systems
  • Troubleshoots system issues
  • Performs user testing for system releases
Policy and Process Development
  • Assists with the development and maintenance of Student Life\'s data management procedures
  • Assists in developing guidelines and policies regarding technology in the department; including back and recovery, archival data, data integrity and user accesses
  • Support staff training through development and maintenance of training documents
  • Provides support to staff on established procedures, guidelines, and policies while adhering to different ministry policies (PHIPA, FIPPA, etc.) and internal Ontario Tech policies (records management, records retention, data governance, etc)
Data Analysis and Reporting
  • Responds to requests for Student Life data and or reports
  • Collects, monitors and analyzes statistics related to Student Life data
  • Provides functional report design expertise using various business intelligence tools
Data Management
  • Assures accuracy and quality of Student Life data records
  • Regularly audits Student Life data and recommends necessary corrections and enhancements
Client Service
  • Conducts user acceptance testing for upgrades and feature releases for Student Life systems
  • Develop training documents/videos for all systems users
  • Collaborates with service units as required for support and changes to data collection, management and reporting
  • Responds to support tickets through direct/shared email inquiries and service desk generated tickets
Required Skills:
  • Communication requires considerable comprehension and interpretation of information of a detailed technical, specialized, and complex nature
  • Problem resolution and analysis for system errors and operations enhancements
  • Able to develop recommendations and /or modifications to procedures and guidelines
  • Able to identify requirements and providing solutions by building and maintaining on-going relationships to understand the service to others
Required Education:
  • Completion of a formal post-secondary/college/university program of three academic years in the areas of computer science, information technology, business analytics/design
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered for the position
  • Verification of Academic credentials may be required
Required Experience:
  • 3-5 years experience
  • Relational database design
  • Data management, analytics and reporting
  • Training document design
  • Knowledge of data governance guidelines and policies; including PHIPA and FIPPA
