Business Analyst (IS)

We are looking for a dynamic and hands-on Business Analyst in Montreal, QC who wants to help customers (internal or external) improve their processes, build new tools, and act as an internal consultant to the business to help them understand systems and technology. We want an individual who understands the need to document processes and requirements, but can strike a balance between with the amount of documentation and \xe2\x80\x9cdoing the work\xe2\x80\x9d.

Primary responsibilities:

• Elicit, document and validate requirements from stakeholders
• Create the appropriate tool, like a screen mockup, to make certain that stakeholder\xe2\x80\x99s requirements are well-understood
• Translate business requirements into functional requirements to be used by developers
• Collaborate with developers and subject matter experts to prioritize requirements based on business value and technical constraints
• Communicate requirements to stakeholders, and manage expectations with regards to delivery of projects, and features that are added or removed
• Manage requirements for a project and ensure traceability to prevent scope creep
• Evaluate potential software solutions to ensure that they meet business requirements and system architecture
• Ensure the products being designed and developed provide a great user experience
• Define, revise & recommend improvements to business processes through a combination of enhancements of existing solutions and new software development
• Prepare test cases and support testing when necessary
• Identify opportunities for improvements post-implementation

Requirements and Competencies

• A University degree or College diploma in computer science and/or equivalent work experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both French and English
• Technical writing skills that produce clear and unambiguous deliverables
• Ability to bridge communication amongst technical and non-technical project staff and stakeholders
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and tasks concurrently
• Understanding of relational database concepts (proficiency in SQL is an asset)
• Knowledge of the BABOK will be considered an asset
• Industry experience in transportation, warehousing or order management will be considered an asset
• Experience with Agile software development methodology will be considered an asset
