About this opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Manager of the Innovation Business Office, the Business Analyst is a key enabler for the Innovation team\xe2\x80\x99s portfolio management, reporting dashboard, internal and external engagement, and business metric reporting processes.

In collaboration with the Senior Manager Business Office and the Innovation team members, the successful candidate will support the innovation stage gate governance process as well as developing and stewarding various business management processes. As well, they will have the opportunity to identify and evaluate specific innovation opportunities in support of the strategy, developing and leading projects that arise from these opportunities.

Responsibilities:

Innovation stage gate governance

Handle the Innovation Portfolio database

Provide team with monthly progression updates

Assist the team with gate progression memo development, decision circulation, and database updates

Supervise and report on the full portfolio of Innovation Team activities.

Design, develop, implement, and maintain value-add Power BI and Spotfire dashboards

Ensure Cenovus data and IP governance standards are closely adhered to

Independently perform exploratory data analysis and develop visualizations to highlight trends and patterns that support decision-making

Identify, design, and implement process improvements through automation and data delivery optimization

Rank innovation opportunities within the portfolio by assessing their economic potential, risk, and strategic alignment.

Collaborate with the Innovation team to implement value-adding technologies and other innovation opportunities.

Qualifications:

Must be willing to work in the office in downtown Calgary, AB.

Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Completion of an undergraduate degree in Business, Data Analytics, Engineering, Science or related field.

Minimum of 2+ years of related experience in the Oil & Gas Industry is preferred

Consideration will be given to keen individuals with less than 2 years of experience who have a proven ability to learn quickly, balance priorities and be a creative problem solver

A keen interest in technology and innovation

Strong data analytics, process development, and data visualization skills

Capable of working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines

Exceptional interpersonal, communication, organization, and time management skills

Experience working on an operating asset

Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team and with asset contacts
