Business Analyst - HR & Legal Portfolio

Summary:



We are seeking a strategic and relationship-driven Business Analyst to take ownership of the Human Resources and Legal business area portfolio. This role will be responsible for managing stakeholder relationships, overseeing both prioritized and non-prioritized initiatives, and acting as a liaison between the business units, internal technology teams, and external vendors. The successful candidate will lead solution research, facilitate governance, and ensure successful delivery of initiatives aligned with business goals.



Responsibilities:



Build and maintain strong relationships with HR, Legal, Operations, and IT stakeholders to understand business needs and strategic priorities. Actively manage the portfolio of initiatives, ensuring visibility, alignment, and progress tracking. Facilitate regular portfolio reviews and governance meetings to communicate status, risks, and decisions. Serve as the primary liaison between HR & Legal and the Technology unit, including external technology vendors. Lead business requirements gathering and process mapping sessions. Prepare detailed documentation including Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Business Process Documents (BPDs). Coordinate and Participate in UAT and Operational Readiness testing. Conduct research and analysis of potential solutions to meet business needs, including vendor evaluations. Recommend solutions based on feasibility, cost, and alignment with business objectives. Prepare and contribute to internal presentations related to project scope, timeline, activities, issues, budget, and progress. Develop and execute communication and change management plans to support adoption and engagement. Collaborate with training teams to develop curriculum and support training delivery. Escalate issues and risks to senior stakeholders and assist in developing mitigation strategies. Ensure governance processes are followed, and decisions are documented.

Qualifications:



5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Business Systems Analyst, ideally supporting HR and/or Legal functions. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Computer Science, or equivalent experience. Very strong process mapping and Visio skills. SHRM, PHR or CHRP certifications are a plus. Experience with HR/Payroll tools such as Dayforce are a plus. Ability to conduct solution research, evaluate vendors, and recommend high-value strategies. Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing demands. Certified Business Analyst Professional (CBAP(TM)) preferred. Proven ability to collaborate with customers and develop solutions of high business value. Strong interpersonal skills including mentoring, coaching, collaborating, and team building. Excellent oral and written communication skills, with experience interacting across all levels of business and IT--including executive leadership. Ability to maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence through consistent delivery and relationship management. Creative approach to problem-solving with the ability to focus on details while maintaining the "big picture" view.
