Role Summary:
The Business Analysis Unit is accountable for working with our various Federal customers to understand their business and reporting requirements. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to meet required and ad hoc reporting and data analysis needs. Responsible for achieving and maintain customer expectations, the Business Analyst will provide insight and recommendations to customers, will manage multiple priorities of varying complexity, analyze and document business requirements/processes working independently and in a team setting. Accuracy and timeliness are paramount in this role. In this role you will also work closely with our IT team, to support and quality assure our system upgrades, maintain security, manage the quality control aspects of client service levels.


The successful candidate will be required to be based in either NB, NS or PE. Flexibility to work in one of our office locations, hybrid office and remote from home, or fully remote in one of these provinces. There will be travel requirements from time-to-time for in person meetings.


As a Business Analyst your key responsibilities will include:
  • Working with internal staff and our government clients to understand business and data needs, specifically conducting business and data analysis activities that are moderate to high level in complexity;
  • Independently delivering business and data analysis on initiatives that are medium to high in complexity;
  • Managing deliverables and schedules ensuring data reporting requirements are completed within established timelines for medium to large sized initiatives/requests



What you need to succeed:
Education: College diploma, bachelor's degree or relevant experience. Health Informatics degree considered an asset.
Work Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience
Computer Skills: Proficient using databases, spreadsheets, word processing and presentation software.
Language Skills: Bilingualism would be considered an asset
Security Clearance: In conjunction with our contract with the Federal Government, you will be required to have Reliability Status Clearance (Enhanced Level B) through the Public Works and Government Services Canada Department prior to your first day. This includes; Fingerprinting, Criminal Record Check and Credit Check.


Other Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and experience of Discoverer, Oracle reports reporting tools, as well as Microsoft Power BI and the BI Suite of Analytical tools.
  • Knowledge and experience in using SSRS Report Builder
  • Ability to assemble, analyze and evaluate moderate to highly complex data.
  • Understanding of the interconnectivity between business needs and IT systems.
  • Experience with architecture and information architecture would be considered an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and client management skills, with the ability to grasp customer-centric design principles.
  • Strong relationship management skills with proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships.

Working Conditions and Work from Home requirements:
  • Employee may be subject to internal physical site inspections
  • Private working area that has a locked door, secure locked perimeter doors (patio doors require a locking bar or pin), an approved locking file cabinet and a locked office space in a controllable environment
  • Employees must connect to an approved home network (we would either provide or specify the acceptable routers/connectivity equipment)
  • No default passwords if using a home router etc. and the password must be compliant with our security policies
  • Work area must be private and free of household noise
  • Location of the work area mitigates risks to privacy; for example, that information on the monitor can only be viewed by the employee. The use of privacy screens is required if the home is shared with others.
  • E-work space must be secured before walking away
  • Headset is mandatory i.e. no speaker phone so family or roommates cannot hear others on the call
