Purpose

The CAG (Credit Analytics Group) Operations team plays a key role in supporting Corporate Banking teams in Canada, the US and Europe. The Junior Business Analyst (JBA) is a key contributor to the success of the team, assisting in the management of important operational functions including monitoring of loan reporting and compliance, task set up and management, system upkeep and various other reporting requirements.

Position Highlights

  • Review of loan documentation in order to establish the appropriate reporting requirements/tasks in the Compliance and Reporting System (CRS)
  • Responsible for CRS Data management and integrity, including review of various data sources to identify an issues or required changes
  • Assist with data management and ad hoc data queries
  • Monitor deal sites; retrieve relevant reporting and assign tasks as required
  • Maintain accurate and critical monthly, weekly and daily reporting
  • Responsible for compliance past due reporting and communicating with Bankers with respect to loan reporting requirements
  • Ensure completeness of the Shared Document Repository (SDR) with respect to loan documentation and other reporting requirements
  • Assist in data review and clean up for the Benchmark Rate Reform (BRR) Database. Produce reports as needed.
  • Maintain CAG Ops ScotiaLive contents by making sure process manuals are up to date
  • Assist in management of the capital calls database and the coordination of rating tasks for capital call loans
  • Participate in strategic planning to identify, research, prioritize, and implement various initiatives relating to the management of departmental data processes and procedures.
  • Provide analytical and data management support on ad hoc initiatives
  • Various additional sundry responsibilities as required.

  • Undergraduate degree (business degree not essential but will be considered an asset)
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Advanced excel skills (ie: macros) an asset
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines, while maintaining high standards of work.
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Exceptional organizational and coordination skills. Ability to independently prioritize hectic workload and ensure assignments are completed accurately and meet given deadlines, often in a fast-paced, stressful environment
  • Familiarity with Corporate Banking products and systems would be an asset.
  • Ability to work well as a team player or independently.
  • Demonstrated self-starter and forward thinker with the ability to provide recommendations on future development of reporting functions/practices, systems etc.
  • Ability to identify technological issues with respect to the integrity of data.
  • Ability to interpret certain financial information for accurate preparation of various business reports.
  • Strong PC skills including extensive experience with:
  • Compliance and Reporting System (CRS) \xe2\x80\x93 in-house Client Event and Task Tracking System \xe2\x80\x93 used extensively. (Training will be provided)
  • Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) \xe2\x80\x93 Excel and Outlook used extensively.
  • Adobe Acrobat
  • Knowledge of Salesforce, CreditLens or Credit360 an asset
  • High tolerance for and adaptability to change.
  • Ability to work overtime as required, often with short notice (sporadic).
