About the Role:
As the Building Manager, you will oversee the smooth daily operation of the property, ensure that all building systems are maintained to a high standard, and provide exceptional service to tenants. This is a resident position, requiring a balance of administrative management, tenant relations, leasing support, and hands-on maintenance oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Suite Turnovers & Inspections
- Complete move-out inspections, prepare suites for new tenants, and coordinate necessary cleaning, repairs, and painting. Document tenant-caused damages for deposit deductions.
Maintenance Oversight
- Perform basic repairs and upkeep; coordinate contractors for specialized work; ensure building systems are serviced regularly; complete routine safety checks.
Property Presentation
- Conduct daily walk-throughs to maintain cleanliness and address hazards in common areas, parking lots, and exterior grounds.
Tenant Relations & Community Building
- Act as the primary contact for tenant inquiries, concerns, and emergencies; deliver notices; collect rent; and ensure compliance with the BC Residential Tenancy Act. Proactively anticipate resident needs, foster a community-oriented atmosphere, and strengthen resident engagement.
Leasing Support
- Show suites, assist with applications, and help secure qualified tenants promptly.
Amenities Management
- Manage amenity bookings, enforce usage rules, maintain supplies, and support tenant enjoyment of common spaces.
Administrative Duties
- Keep accurate records, prepare reports, and follow company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in building management, real estate leasing, hospitality, or a related field preferred.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to listen, collaborate, and resolve conflicts effectively.
General maintenance and repair knowledge (mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC).
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
Successful completion of a criminal record check.
Flexibility for occasional after-hours emergencies.
Salary:
$70,000/year
