Mamele'awt Qweesome Housing Society (MQHS) is looking for a reliable, hands-on Building Maintenance Worker - Multi-Property to support our housing communities across the Fraser Valley.
What You'll Be Doing
General Maintenance & Repairs
Perform routine building and unit maintenance, including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, painting, and appliance repairs
Complete unit turnovers - repairs, patching, painting, and fixture replacements
Carry out preventative maintenance on building systems and equipment
Work Orders & Communication
Respond to maintenance requests across multiple sites, prioritizing urgent issues
Document completed work in ARCORI
Building & Grounds Care
Assist with seasonal work such as snow removal, salting, landscaping, and debris cleanup
Conduct routine inspections of buildings, common areas, mechanical rooms, and grounds
Help keep exterior spaces safe, clean, and well-maintained
Travel & Team Support
Travel daily between MQHS properties in Mission, Abbotsford, Chilliwack, and Hope
Provide coverage for site-based maintenance staff during vacations, absences, or high-demand periods
Be the "extra set of skilled hands" when and where they're needed most
What You Bring
Experience & Education
Minimum 2 years' experience in general building maintenance or a related field
Experience in non-profit housing, residential, or multi-family buildings is an asset
Valid BC driver's license and reliable vehicle (mileage reimbursed by MQHS policy)
Technical Skills
Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and general repairs
Comfortable reading work orders, manuals, and safety documentation
Personal Strengths
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Physically able to perform hands-on work (lifting, bending, standing, tool use)
Respectful, approachable, and solution-focused
Working Conditions
Frequent travel between MQHS properties
Regular use of tools, equipment, and construction materials
Occasional evening or weekend work, depending on operational needs
Additional Requirements
Successful completion of a criminal record check
Ability to engage with tenants, staff, and community members in a respectful and culturally sensitive manner
