As a Building Maintenance Worker 2, you will be a front-line representative working directly with internal clients, contractors, and vendors to ensure City owned and/or managed facilities are operating efficiently and effectively. This position responds to daily service work order requests submitted by City staff working out of these facilities, initiates own work orders, and provides immediate assistance in emergency situations (such as: plumbing/roof leaks, sewer backups, overhead door malfunctions and other maintenance urgencies). Primary duties include:Repair or replace all types of plumbing fixtures (sinks, urinals, toilets, flush meters and taps) in commercial or residential buildings.
Carry out regular scheduled preventive maintenance of structures, equipment, hardware and document observed building conditions for short-term maintenance repairs or long-term life cycle replacement.
Execute planned and demand building maintenance.
Coordinate inspections of fire extinguishers, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) devices, base building lighting, and kitchens.
Support corporate events and public access program with various tasks in preparation.
Maintain reflecting pools, their strainers, fittings and underground irrigation systems and controllers.
